EVALUATION- Question 4 draft

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Throughout the research and planning process using platforms such as prezzi, emaze and blogger were beneficial as they enabled me to showcase different ideas and research I had gathered.
A lot of my research and planning was displayed on prezzi's and emaze's. I found it very useful to use these as I was able to section all of the information and ideas i had gathered and present it in a more efficient manner.

During production we used digital cameras and iphones to get some footage. We found by this beneficial because we were able to film at any point as our technology was easily accessible, this enabled us to get a lot of footage so we had lots to work with. We also used our phones to communicate with each other on a facebook group which made the production process run a lot smoother as we were able to discuss what we had filmed and what we had left to do, we also used this page to share our footage so we could get feedback from each other instantly.

When editing our music video we used final cut pro and Serif Movie Plus. We used serif movie plus to put together the beginning of our music video as we had some text that we wanted to show at the beginning and we found that Serif Movie Plus was better at putting it all together. We were able to manipulate the speed, font, colour of text etc easily on this software which is again why it was beneficial for us to use. We used final cut pro for the majority of our editing. Having done moving image at AS meant that I was quite familiar with the software and was able to edit with ease. However some of the skills that we used on our music video are things that I have recently learned and begun to develop for example the manipulation of the colours of our footage. Being able to do this on final cut pro gave our music video more professionalism as we were able to show some continuity throughout the filters used on clips and give our footage more of that autumn feel we wanted to, we did this by using colour correction.

We also used a digital audio recorder for the planning process when giving our proposal and getting feedback for it. We also used it to record the voiceover at the start of our music video and then put it together with the words on Serif Movie Plus.

I used photoshop to manipulate images used on my digipak and website to make it look more original.

YouTube was used quite a lot in order to upload footage, feedback and our drafts of our music videos.
