PLANNING- Ancillary Task

For my ancillary tasks I am going to create a website and digipak promoting our artist. Upon doing research into existing digipaks and websites for artists that are similar to Jack Johnson I found that it was important to portray the type of person the artist was and who they are in real life, as well as reflect the music that they make. In order to make my ancillaries coherent to our music video I will have to take into account the colour scheme of both. Autumn colours will link in with the tone of our music video as we are creating a rustic, acoustic setting to fit with the version of Jack Johnson's Better Together we are going to be using.

I quite like the burgundy/maroon colours the most as a base colour as I feel like it is representative of our autumn theme and also can symbolise as a shade of red meaning love.

I want to use white for the text maybe as a clear contrast as I don't want the webpage to be too dull with too many darker shades of colour. Although I am exploring many varieties of autumn shades for my webpage I would like to keep the digipak for the artist more simplistic and maybe consisting of 2-3 colours max. I found inspiration from Jack Johnson's single cover for Better Together where it only consists of two colours (yellow and black). I would like the main background for the back of my digipak to be a picture of some sort of texture for example wood or a landscape picture. The front of the cover will be a picture of the artist. I don't want the front of my digipak to include a close up shot of the artist as I want to represent the type of artist he is and I don't feel this can be portrayed with a individual picture of his face and nothing else. I also quite like the idea of a collage of pictures of the artist or different pictures that represent the album.
